Five ways to upgrade your Sadaqah to Sadaqah Jariyah for free!

Are you looking to give Sadaqah? Why not do even better. With IKCA you can turn your Sadaqah donations into Sadaqah Jariyah at no additional cost! We’ve listed five easy ways below.

Why Sadaqah Jariyah?
Sadaqah Jariyah allows the giver to reap the blessings of their charity in this life, and the hereafter, as long as others continue to benefit from it. That means you continue to receive rewards for your Sadaqah Jariyah for as long as the needy benefit from your donation:

The Prophet ﷺ said: When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which [he has passed on and] is beneficial; or a virtuous descendant who prays for him. (Muslim)

Can you give on behalf of the deceased?
Sadaqah Jariyah can even be given on behalf of a loved one, living or deceased. So the ongoing rewards of the Sadaqah Jariyah you give here will reach loved ones who have passed away, furnishing their hereafter with blessings and ease:

Sa’d ibn ‘Ubaadah asked the Prophet ﷺ, “O Messenger of Allaah, my mother has died when I was absent. Will it benefit her if I give in charity on her behalf?” Rasulullah ﷺ said, “Yes.” So he said: “I ask you to bear witness that my garden that bears fruit is given in charity on her behalf.” (Bukhaari)

When you give Sadaqah Jariyah to Imran Khan Cancer Appeal (IKCA), we use it to build hospitals for the poor and to purchase essential medical equipment to heal the sick. This helps us diagnose, treat and support cancer patients over many years to come. So a single Sadaqah Jariyah donation this Ramadan will allow you to multiply the blessings of your good deeds by ten fold at the minimum!

How does giving Sadaqah vary from giving Sadaqah Jariyah?
While Sadaqah affords you one-off blessings for your charity, Sadaqah Jariyah allows you to reap blessings for as long as your charity continues to benefit others. An example of Sadaqah might be a donation you give to feed a cancer patient. Sadaqah Jariyah on the other hand is when you give towards building or furnishing a hospital with medical equipment, which will continue to provide healing to many sick people over many years.

Here are five Sadaqah Jariyah options at various price bands to suit each budget. They will multiply the benefits of your gift to others, and multiply your rewards for years to come:

£80 – CENTRIFUGE MACHINE

This indispensable laboratory device helps us diagnose and treat patients. It is used to separate blood plasma and other liquids for analysis. When properly operated and maintained, these precision machines can last upwards of ten years. That’s ten years or more of rewards for every patient this machine benefits.

£170 – DIGITAL TEMPERATURE DATA LOGGER

Also called a temperature monitor, this is a portable measurement instrument that allows us to record a patient’s temperature over a defined period of time. The digital data is then retrieved, viewed and evaluated. This instrument is invaluable to the treatment of thousands of patients every year.

£350 – LEAD APRON

Lead aprons help reduce a patient’s exposure to diagnostic x-rays. During medical imaging that uses x-rays, these aprons help us protect a patient’s vital organs when potentially exposed to ionizing radiation. The lifespan of a lead apron is an estimated 10 years. Your Sadaqah Jariyah will protect scores of patients receiving treatment, furnishing you with the blessings of helping each of them for the many years that it is used.

£650 – BED STRETCHER

These hospital beds on wheels allow us to safely transport patients in critical condition from patient rooms to diagnostic and therapeutic departments. They are equipped with I.V. pole holders and variable height frames. These stretchers can last up-to 15 last years, helping thousands of patients each year.

£1,000 – INFUSION PUMP

This medical device is used for chemotherapy and is invaluable in our treatment of cancer patients. It delivers fluids, such as nutrients and medication, into a patient’s body in controlled amounts. These machines have a life expectancy of 7-10 years. So your single donation will not only reap the blessings of being multiplied ten-fold in the month of Ramadan, but it will continue to do so with each patient it allows us to treat over the many years that it is used.

For 25 years we’ve been investing Sadaqah Jariyah into healthcare projects with ongoing benefits for our patients, and ongoing rewards for our donors.

The Sadaqah Jariyah you give is vital to the work we do. It has allowed us to build two cancer hospitals in Lahore and Peshawar to date. Now we’re building a third cancer hospital in Karachi, again with Sadaqah Jariyah given by donors worldwide. We still have many sponsorships available for dedication, ranging from ‘Founding Donor’ sponsorships at £3,800 to ‘Impatient Rooms’ at £85,000.
