A Hospital Cyclotron is used to produce radioisotopes necessary for PET (Positron Emission Tomography) imaging, for clinical and research purposes. Shaukat Khanum Hospital Lahore was the first to install Pakistan’s very first cyclotron in 2009. Hospital cyclotrons have revolutionised molecular imaging with major applications in oncology alongside cardiology and neurology. With your support, our hospital in Karachi will have a Cyclotron Room in Nuclear Medicine similar to the one in our Lahore hospital.
