Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge

“Volunteers from two charities, Imran Khan Cancer Appeal & Candlelighters grouped together to raise funds for the cancer victims. The challenge involved climbing 3 peaks; Pen-y-Ghent (691 metres), Whernside (728 metres),Ingleborough (723 metres) with 6,000 feet ascent within 12 hours.

We left Bramhope in Leeds at 6.30 in the morning on Sunday the 8th September and reached Horton in Ribblesdale where the challenge began at 8am, walking through the beautiful terrain of West Yorkshire. We reached the first peak Penyghent comfortably but that comfort did not last long as by the time we reached the second mountain, we were exhausted and the body could not take any more. Also by this time the big group had been divided into two or three small groups as everyone liked to trek according to their own pace.

At last we finished our challenge at 7 in the evening with an hour to spare. We know our hard work is worth it as it would inspire many to support our cause. So far we have raised over £3,500 for IKCA. Please donate generously at:http://www.justgiving.com/Team-Imran-Khan1
