2023 Karachi Hospital Progress Update

Finishing works are ongoing for the Karachi Hospital construction, as we race to bring free cancer care to Karachi soon.

To make this happen, we’ve overcome all the challenges that set us back in 2023. These included:

• World-wide inflation which depreciated the rupee against the US $.
• Major issues with construction material supply chains caused by import challenges.

Your unwavering generosity has enabled us to invest £30 million into the Karachi hospital project, and with the grace of Allah (SWT) we’ve raised Pakistan’s biggest cancer hospital out of the ground! Today, we are in need of a further £53 million for equipment and finishing works.

Here’s our progress update for 2023:

• Our Karachi Walk-in Clinic for cancer screening and triaging is now in operation as of last year. You can read more about this here.
• Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) duct and insulation works are now in progress.
• Internal masonry and plastering works are partially completed.
• Flooring work is nearly completed for the Ground and First floors of both the main building and administration building.
• Piping and cable laying work for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) across all buildings is in progress.
• External infrastructure development work is in progress.
• Main building water-proofing work and waste drainage system installations are soon to begin.
