The Purpose Of Fitrana In Ramadan

At the end of Ramadan, Muslims give a special charity called Zakat ul Fitr, also known as Fitrana. This donation helps provide food for those in need during Eid, so everyone can share in the blessings of the occasion.

DONATE FITRANA £6

The amount of Fitrana was traditionally described by the Prophet (ﷺ) as one ‘saa’. This is roughly equivalent to £6 of staple food in our time. The recommended amount of Fitrana is therefore about £6 per person this Ramadan.

Those who are able may choose to give more. Fitrana is a way of supporting the wider community at the end of Ramadan. As you share Eid meals with loved ones, you can help extend its blessings beyond your own table.

Giving early helps us prepare and share food provisions in time for Eid.

Give Fitrana to feed the needy

We accept Fitrana donations to provide Eid meals for those who rely on our support through Shaukat Khanum in Pakistan. Meals are currently shared through the existing facilities in Lahore and Peshawar. When the Karachi facility opens this December, your generosity will reach even more people, Insha’Allah.

We would like to reassure our donors that Shaukat Khanum accounts are operating as normal, with no restrictions in place. Our founder is unable to make an appeal for those who rely on our support through Shaukat Khanum in Pakistan. With your Fitrana, we can provide meals at the end of Ramadan as we prepare for the opening of Shaukat Khanum Karachi in December 2026.
