Shafay Malik: I volunteered at the paediatric ward of Shaukat Khanum Hospital, Lahore.

“I consider myself lucky for being a part of the volunteer’s team at Shaukat Khanum Hospital (SKMCH)”

Shafay Malik is a member of the Shaukat Khanum Tiger’s Club –a youth club in Pakistan, which organises awareness-raising activities and allows students to volunteer at Shaukat Khanum Hospital (SKMCH). Shafay spent time with patients at the paediatric ward of SKMCH Lahore. Here’s what he had to say afterwards.

“I consider myself lucky for being a part of the volunteer’s team at Shaukat Khanum Hospital (SKMCH). At the hospital I experienced a contentment of heart that comes from working for humanity. I was truly moved every single time I was able to bring a smile to a patient’s face. Especially because I knew all these patients were undergoing difficult treatment and yet they managed to keep their spirits high. What had the most profound affect on me was seeing the patients being treated with utmost dedication and care by the Hospital staff.”
