Ramadan Reflections

In the concluding hours before sunset is when we feel the weakness that comes from a long day without sustenance. These are the moments in which we realise our utter dependence on the things we take for granted. The moments when we realise that if you subtract one vital element from the equation which makes our bodies function as they should, everything starts coming apart.

For many people diagnosed with cancer, a hearty iftar won’t give back the strength their bodies are lacking. A refreshing glass of water won’t help them feel whole again. For them, the vital element that’s missing will take much more to replace.

Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) cares for thousands of patients who rely on your support. Last year we were able to provide free cancer treatment to 75% of our patients through zakat funds. This Ramadan, please remember us when calculating your zakat and giving sadaqah.
