We would like to reassure our donors that Shaukat Khanum accounts are operating as normal, with no restrictions in place. Our founder is unable to make an appeal for those who rely on our support through Shaukat Khanum in Pakistan. In his absence, you can continue helping them with your Zakat as we prepare for the opening of Shaukat Khanum Karachi in December 2026.

We sponsor people in need who qualify for Zakat under Islamic rules. They include children, adults, and older individuals who travel from across Pakistan to reach Shaukat Khanum.

More than 75% of those supported at Shaukat Khanum qualify for Zakat. Your support helps ensure they are welcomed with dignity while their case is reviewed.

A single Shariah Compliance Framework guides each application, so you can give with confidence.

  • Sponsorship begins once a person’s eligibility is verified.
  • Their details remain confidential, ensuring everyone is supported in the same way.
  • Every penny you give is kept in a separate Zakat fund.

How One-to-One Sponsorship Works

If you wish to give more, you can choose one-to-one sponsorship, which begins at £4,000.

We share brief profiles of those who qualify for Zakat at Shaukat Khanum, along with the estimated amount of sponsorship required. You decide how much to contribute and whether you want to give once or over several months.

You also decide how involved you want to be. You can receive occasional updates and, where available:

  • Mark key milestones in their journey.
  • Visit them at Shaukat Khanum (subject to available dates).
  • Send them messages of encouragement.
