Fidyah is compensation paid by those who have a legitimate reason for not fasting during Ramadan and who cannot make up the missed fasts later. Instead, they provide two meals for someone in need for each day of fasting they are unable to observe.
DONATE FIDYAH £6 DONATE FIDYAH £180Fasting during Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is observed by every Muslim who is in good health, of sound mind and physically able. Ramadan is a deeply meaningful time that is anticipated every year. However, if someone is unable to participate due to long-term illness or old age, they may give Fidyah, thereby feeding others in need.
Fidyah should not be confused with Kaffarah, which applies when a fast (or oath) is missed or broken without a valid reason. Donors should consider the quality of food they typically eat when deciding how much Fidyah to give. Providing the same quality rather than the bare minimum is more favourable. Donors should also remember that Fidyah values depend on the affordability of ingredients, seasoning, cooking oil, and energy. These may vary each year.

Give Fidyah to feed the needy
We accept Fidyah donations to provide meals for those who rely on our support through Shaukat Khanum in Pakistan. Meals are currently shared through the existing facilities in Lahore and Peshawar. When the Karachi facility opens this December, your generosity will reach even more people, Insha’Allah.
We would like to reassure our donors that Shaukat Khanum accounts are operating as normal, with no restrictions in place. Our founder is unable to make an appeal for those who rely on our support through Shaukat Khanum in Pakistan. In his absence, you can continue providing meals for them as we prepare for the opening of Shaukat Khanum Karachi in December 2026.
