About the Walk
The Roaches (from French, les Roches -the rocks!) is a prominent, rocky ridge, situated above Leek and Tittesworth Reservoir.
The popular Roaches walk is a circular, 5.5 km trek through breath-taking countryside of the Staffordshire Peak District. Our route will follow lanes, byroads, moorland paths and woodlands tracks, affording us some stunning natural vistas and possible encounters with wild birds and wallabies!
The walk will commence at 10 am, and our meeting point will be The Roaches – postcode: ST13 8UB
Dress warms, with layers and waterproofs, and some good walking boots in the likely event that we’ll be squelching through mud.
Fundraising Target & Fees
The cost of registering for the Roaches walk is just £10. And every participant, will get a free IKCA T-Shirt and certificate upon completion.
We have a minimum fundraising target of £50, however we do encourage participants to set their own target, above this minimum, to support cancer patients at Shaukat Khanum Hospital. The closing date for registration is the 19th of September 2022.
The Roaches Walk has no age restrictions, making it the perfect event for any family. Please note however that under 16-year-olds need to be accompanied by an adult.
Clothing and Footwear
It is the participant’s own responsibility to wear footwear and clothing appropriate to the nature of the course and the weather on the day.
