Construction of our third and largest hospital in Karachi is now underway.
Thousands of people in Pakistan, and around the world, are coming together to lay the foundations for what will be Pakistan’s biggest cancer hospital to date. Join us. Lay one brick or ten. Give Sadaqah Jariyah towards anything from equipment to a room or an entire ward. Every donation will be honoured with a dedication plaque that bears the donor’s name. Every brick and piece of equipment donated, will help save lives for years to come.Donate towards Karachi Hospital
SKMCH has been in Karachi since 2010, when we established the Karachi Diagnostics Centre and Clinic. The centre provides radiology services including digital X-Ray and Mammography; Pharmacy services; Oncology services including a consultation clinic and a chemotherapy bay. With our capacity limited, SKMCH staff in Karachi have been hard pressed to treat the rising number of poor cancer patients in this region. But a third Shaukat Khanum Hospital will change that.
The Karachi hospital will be built at a cost of £35 million and at one million square feet it will be twice the size of the hospital in Lahore. The new hospital will have forty-seven outpatient examination rooms, a sixty-nine bed chemotherapy facility, two-hundred-and-eighty-eight inpatient beds, sixteen operation theatres, and twenty-four intensive care beds all equipped with the latest technology, including state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities and latest in treatment planning and delivery systems.
Donate your Sadaqah and Zakat to help our new hospital become a ray of hope for poor cancer patients in the region, who can neither afford treatment nor the cost of traveling to Lahore to receive medical.Donate Bricks
Karachi currently has the highest rate of oral cancer in Pakistan and cancer of the gastrointestinal tract is also rapidly rising amongst the population. This new hospital will be a lifeline for the thousands of families living with cancer and ensure that we can diagnose and treat it even earlier.
Karachi is the capital of the Sindh province and Pakistan’s largest, most populated city. It is plagued by extreme poverty with up to 40% of the population living on less than 80 pence a day, and 75% of the surrounding population across rural Sindh living in a state of destitution. In a region where crime is high, life is cheap and cases of parents abandoning their children out of desperation are common, the sick have little hope of survival.
